Our goal is to not only save the Tropic from closure, but to set up the funding and operational support that will preserve the historic cinema so that future generations may enjoy this iconic institution.
For the last 30 days, the staff of the Tennessee Williams Theatre has been volunteering their time and, along with community members, are working to steer the Tropic away from closure. The Tropic’s Board of Directors has stepped down to allow for fresh eyes and efforts by PACKW’s Board. The community continues to open up their hearts and their pocketbooks in support of saving the Tropic Cinema.

We are working diligently towards re-opening October 1st.
